Meatloaf

I found multiple copies of this meatloaf recipe in my late grandmother’s recipe boxes. While it seemed a little odd to me, it turned out astonishingly well. I highly recommend it!

Meatloaf Ingredients

2/3 c. dry bread crumbs

1 c. milk

1 1/2 lb. ground beef

2 eggs, beaten

1 T. granulated onion

1 t. salt

1/4 t. black pepper

1/2 t. sage

Add milk to breadcrumbs, set aside to let soak until absorbed. Add remaining ingredients together and mix well, then combine with breadcrumb mixture. Form into a loaf and place in loaf pan. Prepare Piquant Sauce.

Piquant Sauce Ingredients

3 T. brown sugar

1/4 c. ketchup

1/4 t. nutmeg

1 t. dry ground mustard

Mix sauce ingredients together until well combined. Pour over meatloaf. Bake at 350 degrees for 60-70 minutes.
